NABA is one of the leading professional association's that represents the interests of African-Americans and other minorities in Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, Finance, Consulting, Government, and Information Technology. Our inclusive mindset encourages membership from college students to entry-level staff to senior executives. To increase transparency and future opportunities for our members, we are offering a number of new strategic and distinctive events and activities this fiscal year. I can ensure that these events and activities will provide networking, personal and professional growth that will embody NABA's goals and motto "Lifting As We Climb."
We are committed to support the advancement of our members through new programming initiatives this fiscal year to continue to understand the needs of both our members and corporate partners to enhance the return on investment. The NABA Metro DC Chapter offers a variety of options to both members and non-members that want to improve their business proficiency. We look forward to having you participate in one of the many informative professional development sessions, beneficial community service initiatives, career enhancing networking opportunities along with the many other member benefits.
As an Executive Board, we also encourage each of you contact us with questions, comments, or concerns and strongly encourage you to reach out regarding involvement with our various committees. As we become more transparent, please read the attached NABA Metro DC State of the Chapter Report. This report provides insight of our collective accomplishments the past three fiscal years, and where we are going next. The Executive Board spent the summer strategizing about how we can best engage membership through leadership training, professional development, social events, and community service throughout the fiscal year. We have come up with some inventive approaches to continue living by NABA's motto, "Lifting As We Climb," so make sure to renew your membership at www.nabainc.org/join so that you can take part in all that we have planned.
It means the world to me to be elected to serve as President for NABA Metro DC. I am excited to lead this chapter onward and upward from the great place where Immediate Past President Jamal D. Burise led the chapter to in his three years at the helm. Continued success will take impassioned engagement from our leadership team, our membership, and our corporate partners, all collaborating to live NABA's motto, "Lifting As We Climb," to reach even higher heights. I look forward to seeing you at the top.
