Volunteer Opportunity - Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program!
As we embark upon a new year, a new tax season will be well underway very soon! Every year, our local NABAchapter works with an IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to aid local community organizations to offer free tax help to low and moderate-income individuals and families that need assistance in preparing their own tax returns.
The DC EITC Campaign (sponsored by Community Tax Aid) is working hard to provide free tax preparation services and connect low-income and moderate-income metropolitan area residents to asset building opportunities. Last year, over hundreds of volunteers helped file thousands of returns, claiming millions in tax refunds for DC residents as well as connecting many of those residents to other free financial resources!
The Campaign and Community Tax Aid (CTA) are in need of volunteers for the 2019 tax season and registration is now open! You can retrieve additional information about this opportunity at CTA's website (http://www.communitytaxaiddc.org/volunteers-3/). If you have any questions, feel free to contact the DC Metrochapter's VITA Coordinators - Nikki Akinyeye and Andrea Smith (email@example.com) for more information.

Mentorship Program Survey
Greetings NABA family!
In order to continue to build upon NABA’s motto of “Lifting As We Climb”, we are excited to inform you that we will be launching a mentoring initiative in the upcoming months specifically for the members of the NABA Metro DC chapter! The purpose of the mentoring initiative will be to:
Deepen the professional and personal relationships among members.
Bridge the generational gap between tenured professionals and those who are new to the professional landscape.
Increase the interaction and involvement of all members beyond just our regular meetings and events.
Add value to the Metro DC Chapter and NABA as a whole for current and prospective members.
To launch the program, we are seeking both mentors and mentees within the chapter. For the members that are willing to be designated mentors and for those looking for a mentor, we ask that you please complete the quick applications below!
