NAVIGATING YOUR CAREER PRESENTED BY FANNIE MAE'S ABLE EMPLOYEE RESOURCE GROUP

Join Fannie Mae's African Ancestry Business Leaders of Excellence (ABLE) Employee Resource Group for a panel discussion and networking reception. Panelists consist of individuals who successfully navigated common career challenges and HR professional will offer their best practices. The discussion will cover the following:

- How to obtain experience for your next role when it differs from your current job description

- Applying for management opportunities without having prior managerial experience

- Applying for jobs when your background does not mirror the job requirements.

Seats are limited, so register ASAP 

Registration: 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Panel Discussion: 5:30 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.
Networking reception: 6:15 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All visitors should enter at front main entrance at 3900 Wisconsin Ave NW and check in at the guard’s desk.

Parking: Vistors can park for free in the driveway located between the buildings located at 3900 and 4000 Wisconsin Avenue NW. This driveway does not have a street name but does have a traffic light in front of it. You will need to have a copy of your invitation to show to the security guard. Paid underground parking is also available at 4000 Wisconsin Avenue NW. Vistors may enter the lot by turning onto Upton Street from Wisconsin Avenue. You will see the entrance to the garage on the left side. In the event that parking is unavailable (at the side driveway and/or at the garage), you can park on the street utilizing the meters.

NABA Metro DC Junior Achievement Day at JA Finance Park

NABA Metro DC is currently requesting volunteers for JA Finance Park. The details for this event are as listed below:

Volunteer Arrival and Training: 8:30 am
Volunteer Departure: 1:15 pm

Dress Code: Business casual or company-branded attire

Please note that volunteers will be required to complete registration prior to the event date and will also be required to present a government issued ID upon arrival. Once you have RSVP'd, further details will be forwarded to you by the NABA Metro DC Financial Literacy Committee.

Mentorship Program Survey

Greetings NABA family! 

In order to continue to build upon NABA’s motto of “Lifting As We Climb”, we are excited to inform you that we will be launching a mentoring initiative in the upcoming months specifically for the members of the NABA Metro DC chapter! The purpose of the mentoring initiative will be to:

  • Deepen the professional and personal relationships among members.
  • Bridge the generational gap between tenured professionals and those who are new to the professional landscape.
  • Increase the interaction and involvement of all members beyond just our regular meetings and events.
  • Add value to the Metro DC Chapter and NABA as a whole for current and prospective members.

To launch the program, we are seeking both mentors and mentees within the chapter. For the members that are willing to be designated mentors and for those looking for a mentor, we ask that you please complete the quick applications below!
